         Activities of Science & Technology
  • Grant-in-aid to the Puducherry Council for Science & Technology (PCS&T) for operation and maintenance and establishment of Planetarium, Science Park in Puducherry and Karaikal respectively and also to strengthen the Council for carrying on going / new activities. 

  • Grant- in - aid to the research projects on identified S&T thrust areas.

  •  Partial financial assistance for conduct of International/National conferences / Seminars / workshops on S&T topics.

  • Travel Grant to Research Scholars to attend international workshops / conference.

  • Setting up / upgradation of science labs in Govt. schools ( to be done for colleges also).

  • Celebration of important days of scientific significance in the U.T. of Puducherry.

  • Presentation of Best Science Student Awards.

  • Organizing the Science Tours for the benefit of students.

  • Science popularization/education programmes for the benefit of students.

  • Dr. Abdul Kalam Science Center and Planetarium was inaugurated on 03.05.2015

  • Has two exhibition halls viz., Marine Biology and Fun Science Galleries with over 100 exhibits.

  • Marine Biology Gallery houses exhibits on marine - ecology, diversity, resources, threats, tourism and it is the only one of its kind in India.

  • Fun Science Gallery is completely interactive in nature.

  • The Planetarium is fully digitalized and automated. Planetarium shows are in Tamil and English alternatively.

  • Over 70,000 visitors have visited till date.
