    DSTE  started functioning from 01.01.1993 after merging of the erstwhile S&T and  Environment cells functioning in the U.T .Administration                                   

The Environmental  Information System(ENVIS) Centre  under the funding of the Moef,GOI is functioning in the PPCC, focuses on collection, analysis, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information on Environment related activities with special reference to Solid Waste Management.
